My name is Phiona Karungi Fort-portal S.S I have been able to abstain from sex as a result of the information and knowledge received from Rwenzori Abstinence and scripture union youth network (RASYN).  RASYN has changed my life, I have learnt how to pray, I have been empowered with the word of God which has helped me to overcome evil.  The information I have got from RASYN has changed me in terms of talking, the friends I walk with at school, my behaviours have changed and my parents, church, friends and teachers are proud of me now.  I have been blessed with the spirit of self-control, my singing, dancing and praying talents have been improved and now I believe to be a responsible person through RASYN.

MUHUMUZA MARVIN 9 YEARS , GREEN CIRCLE PRIMARY SCHOOL , PRIMARY 5

My name is Muhumuza Marvin. 9 years and I study from Green Circle primary school a Moslem school in Kabarole district but I am proud to know God and to fight Evil though I am in Moslem school.  I want to be a pastor and I thank God because my dream is coming to reality. Rwenzori Abstinence and scripture union youth network (RASYN) has played a big role in my life. I have benefited spiritually, I can pray, teach the word of God to the Moslem pupils and physically I have been so blessed. I have the capacity to tell other pupils to keep from SEX and other evil and all this has come as a result of joining RASYN. Thank u so much RASYN for reaching us in our village schools. To me WITH JESUS NOTHING IS   HARD. I WILL NOT LET AIDS DESTROY MY LIFE IN JESUS NAME.

MPANJA SAUL, SENIOR 2, KATOOKE MODERN SECONDARY SCHOOL, KYENJOJO DISTRICT 18 YEARS

My name is Mpanja Saul in Senior two 18 yrs ( Katooke Modern secondary school )in Kyenjojo District. I thank God for RASYN for wiping away my tears and bringing back joy into my life.  I am an orphan who lives on the mercies of God. I always wanted to be a teacher and I did all that I could do to look for fees. I cultivated people’ land, grazed people’ cows and did all that I could do to see that I join secondary school. I thank God for RASYN; they have become my parent, my guardian Am now being cared for, my fees is paid and I see I bright future in fort of me. I am happy now because I will one day be a professional teacher and I can’t stop thanking Rwenzori abstinence and scripture union youth network for the great work they have done for me. I will wait for SEX and I shall speak abstinence to other youth 

WITH GOD EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND ABSTINENCE IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTROL HIV/AIDS

 We are members of RASYN and we are proud to be members who are equipped, empowered and strengthened with the word of God. We believe and trust God that abstinence is easy and possible if you have Jesus. We don’t believe in using condoms but we have our trust and faith in God to give us the spirit of Self Control and wait until we are ready. We encourage our follower youth to trust in God at all the time, to believe in themselves and be contented with what they have. AIDS is a deadly disease but Jesus is the best in all. Thank you RASYN for paying our fees and blessing us spiritually we didn’t know now we understand that Abstinence is the best way to fight HIV AND WITH JESUS YES WE CAN. AMEN

YOUTH CONFERENCE

RASYN organized a youth conference on 16th march 2013 many youth from different schools, churches and communities  attended the conference. The main objective was to tell the youth that abstinence is the best way to control HIV/AIDS among the youth. and with God all things are possible. According to new vision published on June 23, 2012 which stated that HIV/AIDs high in Kabarole district Secondary schools. The newspaper further explained that the Kabarole district secretary for health and education Joshua Kagaba has said that the HIV prevalence among secondary schools in Kabarole district currently stands at 30%.Kagaba told the New Vision on Thursday morning that a study by the district with the help of other Non-Governmental Organization shows that of every 1000 students at least over 250 are HIV positive. We found out that young kids are exposed to bad practices at a younger age , most kids share one room with mum and dad and many have learn t evil practices from their parents, guardians and sisters and brothers they stay with. So this pushed us to start preaching and singing abstinence from evil to even the young ones, through counseling and guidance.Here we were in Kyenjojo District.

EDUCATION STUDY

There was a little girl in a family of four,her mom, dad and older brother,everything was going great until her dad lost his job and her mom also lost her job,they were all sad not knowing what to do or whom to turn too,only thing they had was a loaf of bread to eat,they thank God and eat it, eventually they had no food,that day to eat,mom, dad and older brother got depressed,sad and frustrated,but the little girl who was only 6 years of age,remained joyful,she quietly went to her room and went on her knees and said " Lord Jesus i maybe 6 years of age,but i know you can hear my prayer"
she then said "Lord we have no food,mom and dad are sad,Jesus please let us have some food and please let daddy get a job in Jesus name amen,as tears flowed down her cheeks,after which she heard her mom and dad phone rang,she rushed downstairs, she then ask her daddy why your so happy, daddy replied "my dear child i got back my job" and then the mother came rushing in the living room and said " some stranger called and said we must meet her at the supermarket and we should make a list of things we want,because God sends her to bless us" then the little girl rushed back in her room and laid on her knees and said "thank you lord with a graceful smile

 RASYN is closely working with  two district of the Rwenzori Region ,Kabarole and Kyenjojo. Kabarole is one of the district's in Uganda  that has the highest percentage of HIV/AIDS especially among the secondary students and  youth.http://www.newvision.co.ug/article/fullstory. RASYN  works with pupils, students in secondary schools and higher institutions of learning .

 So far we working with Mpaga S.S, Fort- Portal S.S , Kamengo S.S, Kagoote Seed S.S, Kabarole Hill Side High school,  PEAS  School in GEMA ,Nyakasura School in Kabarole District and Katooke Modern in Kyenjojo District. Also Working with Mountains of the moon University and Uganda Pentecostal University scripture unions , Kabarole District.

This is what the Lord told me to do after finding out that the Youth are dying day and night b'se of HIV. So far we are working with Kamenge Primary school, Njara Primary school, green Circle Primary school, Green Valley school, Kabarole Parents school, Kyebambe Primary school, Buhinga Primary school, Mpumbu Primary school, Kahungabunyonyi Primary school in Kabarole District and Tanaga primary school, Irara Primary  school Kyenjojo District. In each school we have representatives and members of the Clubs. the team sometimes fail to reach all the schools  and  churches are reached by RASYN to find the kids in Sunday schools and scripture unions .We have 150 members in primary schools from Jan 2013 -date . Glory to Jesus.

RASYN targets children from lower classes because it was found out that kids start having sex at age of 4 and many have been affected physically, psychologically and emotionally. we speak to these kids and many tell us things that we don't expect a little  one to be knowing at that tender age.

FEEDING THE YOUTH

As RASYN we try by all means to make the youth happy with the little we have.We always share the little we have with the youth so that hunger does not push them to look for money in any form. we do provide food for them, provide scholastic materials and fees to those who have been out of school due to school fees problems.

EVEN THE LITTLE ONES ARE  PART  OF RASYN BECAUSE WE FOUND OUT THAT IN  RWENZORI REGION  KIDS START HAVING SEX AT THE AGE OF 4. SO THESE KIDS NEED GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING

TALENTS DEVELOPMENT FOR THE YOUTH.

RASYN is doing all that it can do to keep the youth busy and improve their talents . T
his is one of the way that we are trying to improve the skills of the youth through music, dance and drummer. Every Saturday youth meet at Christ Vision ministries and show their talents and skills in preaching, teaching the word from the bible, dancing, acting and others.
As a way go keep the mind of the youth busy and occupied we have identified each one;s talent which we are building on daily, this will not give them a room to think about Sex and other evil things.
God is raising an Army that will fight HIV in the land of Rwenzori Region. They will preach the Gospel and teach abstinence in Jesus name. Thank u Jesus for these Youth who have decided to serve u and keep away from evil through Abstinence. This was during the launching of RASYN on 16th March 2015.

Local FM radio fits well with the lifestyle of many people in Uganda and becomes a “hub” for converging all other sources/tools of information access . It is a popular media channel because it does not require electricity, and because people can listen to the radio while they work or walk. By broadcasting in local languages, radio goes a long way in addressing the information needs of the local citizens, especially on health  issues

Waiting is a Test of True Love
Love is patient. That's about as simple as it gets. We can learn the sincerity of our partner's love by their willingness, or lack thereof, to wait.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking ... (NIV)

We Will Have No Negative Consequences to Deal With
There are always consequences to sin. Some of those effects can be devastating. An unwanted pregnancy, a decision to have an abortion or place a child for adoption, broken relationships with family and friends — these are just a few of the possible outcomes we face when we choose to have sex outside of marriage. We should be sure to consider the snow ball effect of sin. And what if the relationship does not last? Hebrews 12:1 shows that sin hinders our lives and easily entangles us. We will be much better off if we avoid these negative consequences.

 - We Will Keep Our Christian Testimony Intact
We don't set a very good example of godly living when we disobey God. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:12 to "be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." (NIV)

In Matthew 5:13 Jesus compares his followers to "salt" and "light" when we represent him in the world. When we no longer shine the light of Christ, when we lose our Christian testimony, we lose our "saltiness." In other words, we become flavorless and bland. We lose our ability to attract the world to Christ. Luke 14:34-35 puts it strongly, saying that salt without saltiness is worthless, not even fit for the manure pile.

We Won't Settle For Less Than God's Perfect Will
When we choose to have sex outside of marriage, we settle for less than God's perfect will — for ourselves and for our partner. And if we do this, we don't know what we might end up with. Perhaps we'll end up in a miserable marriage.

So, here's some food for thought: If your partner wants sex before marriage, consider this as a warning sign about their spiritual condition. If you are the one who wants sex before marriage, consider this as a warning sign of your own spiritual condition.

 - We Will Show Consideration for Our Partner's Well-Being
If we put our partner's needs above our own and consider their spiritual well-being, we'll be compelled to wait for sex. We, like God, will want what's best for them.

There is no Hebrew or Greek word used in the Bible that precisely refers to sex before marriage. The Bible undeniably condemns adultery and sexual immorality, but is sex before marriage considered sexually immoral? According to 1 Corinthians 7:2, “yes” is the clear answer: “But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.” In this verse, Paul states that marriage is the “cure” for sexual immorality. First Corinthians 7:2 is essentially saying that, because people cannot control themselves and so many are having immoral sex outside of marriage, people should get married. Then they can fulfill their passions in a moral way.

Since 1 Corinthians 7:2 clearly includes sex before marriage in the definition of sexual immorality, all of the Bible verses that condemn sexual immorality as being sinful also condemn sex before marriage as sinful. Sex before marriage is included in the biblical definition of sexual immorality. There are numerous Scriptures that declare sex before marriage to be a sin (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13, 18; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations of which God approves (Hebrews 13:4).

Far too often we focus on the “recreation” aspect of sex without recognizing that there is another aspect—procreation. Sex within marriage is pleasurable, and God designed it that way. God wants men and women to enjoy sexual activity within the confines of marriage. Song of Solomon and several other Bible passages (such as Proverbs 5:19) clearly describe the pleasure of sex. However, the couple must understand that God’s intent for sex includes producing children. Thus, for a couple to engage in sex before marriage is doubly wrong—they are enjoying pleasures not intended for them, and they are taking a chance of creating a human life outside of the family structure God intended for every child.

While practicality does not determine right from wrong, if the Bible's message on sex before marriage were obeyed, there would be far fewer sexually transmitted diseases, far fewer abortions, far fewer unwed mothers and unwanted pregnancies, and far fewer children growing up without both parents in their lives. Abstinence is God’s only policy when it comes to sex before marriage. Abstinence saves lives, protects babies, gives sexual relations the proper value, and, most importantly, honors God.

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;" 1 Thessalonians 4:3
