My name is
One Love, from Uganda; I was raised up by a single mom after I lost my father
at the age of 9. We were born 8 and my mom suffered to educate us, feed us and
care for us since she had no job.
We
went through a lot of struggle to get education, food and basic needs. I was
born from a Christian family and we believed God for daily bread, I only asked
God to help us get education so that when things are okay I will be able to
help orphans so that they don’t suffer like how I suffered. By the grace of God
my aunt who stayed in the capital got for us a school that sponsored me and my
sister.
I was able to get education from senior
one-senior four and the sponsorship ended from there my mom had to struggle again to see that I get
back to school, by the grace of God I studied up to the university and
graduated with a degree in information technology in 2010.
I started
providing small fees, scholastic materials and basic needs to the orphans and
youths while I was in secondary school I used to use the little pocket money my
mom used to give me to support two orphans in my village. I started using my pocket
money to at least buy a book and a pen to 3 children and pay fees of 10,000/= to one or two orphans every term. While
at Makerere University I used my pocket money to pay fees for 3 orphans in
secondary school and I kept with this heart until I finished her studies in
2010 and got a job in 2011.
Am now
Sponsoring 26 orphans from my small monthly earning, and
provides scholastic materials and basic needs to 20 orphans I have lobbied for
support from Friends and family members. My best friend is now paying fees of four
orphans and my sister to pays fees for 2 orphans and provides basic needs for 5
orphans.
One love with her kids she sponsors and looks after. |
RASYN is using both words and actions to see a better and happy youth
and orphan. Youths need training, knowledge and
skills in entrepreneurship and
developmental ideas , they need to be supported with fees and scholastic
materials so that they will not look for money from men and women through sex
and this shall go hand in hand with
abstinence hence reduction of HIV/AIDS Spread.
